Tesla Auto-Pilot Promise 10 Years Old. When will the Day Come?

Like many Elon Musk and Tesla enthusiasts, I believe in a bright future. I read Elon Musk’s biography twice and consumed hundreds of hours of his daily interesting actions for years. There seems to be only one thing missing in his bright resume and that is getting auto-pilot done.

Do we need another decade? The expectation is having no expectations, or?

If it wasn’t for Elon Musk, Tesla would be sued for billions of dollars just because of naming the auto-drive-assistance system as auto-pilot, but just because Tesla is such a great product and auto-pilot feature is such a challenging task representing the future, the entire fan and customer base just turn their eyes somewhere else where things are more positive.

The Decade-Long Promise

Elon Musk first announced Tesla’s plans to develop an autopilot system in late 2013, during a press conference to announce the company’s new dual-motor and all-wheel-drive Model S. At the time, Musk said that the company was working on “autopilot for the car” and that it would be available to Tesla owners within three years.
