Google Now Offers a Free Generative AI Course and Here is Why You Also Need to Take It
There is now an online 4-hour free course created by Google that you can complete in half a day consisting of a 20-minute video and 3 hours and 30 minutes of reading material ending with a quick quiz and a certificate of completion.
This one is a short entry just to build your understanding of why taking the Google GenAI course is worth your time.
In the last year, thanks to GPT, AI is suddenly everywhere.
There is a saying by the founder of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang:
NVIDIA basically creates the foundation of the AIverse by providing the majority of the high-capacity chips designed for AI.
There is already explosive growth in AI-related content, jobs, and the future overall.
Therefore, even if you don’t work in AI or more generally put, technology, it is essential to know the basics of how AI works.
In this regard, Google now offers a free course that is public.
I have taken it and I really enjoyed the video presentation of the Google AI Expert with well-designed slides, flow charts, and how all the essential terms are explained in relation to each other.
Here is the Introduction to GenerativeAI course by Google:
You will learn so much including what AI, machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, generative AI, supervised learning, labels and so much more, are, in just 20 minutes.
The descriptions are in everyday language and once you finish, you will gain a general understanding of the essential terms and how AI works so that you will be able to understand and build your foundation when you see and interact with new AI content.
Following the video section, there is the document with the links to essential interviews and articles about Generative AI, which aim to provide different perspectives and further emphasis on the fundamental concepts and how they work, written by the leaders and experts of the AI industry.
Once you understand the basics, the short course focuses on Generative AI and what it is and what it is not.
GenAI can basically be a natural language, image or audio, and it is not number or probability.
I recommend that you spend a few hours taking this course while sipping your coffee and taking notes while you are at it to learn actively.
