A majority of fathers agree at mediation for mothers to have primary custody. Another unfortunate thing is that according to the domestic violence advocacy groups here in Dallas, abusive fathers are much more likely to contest custody as a way to punish the mothers. I am not saying that all fathers who contest custody are abusive because that’s not true. I’m saying that a much higher percentage of abusive fathers are likely to contest custody than non-abusive fathers.
